A 3-axis-stablized gimbal camera is boasted by the Phantom 4Pro which comes from DJI. This drone has a 20MP camera which has the capability of taking shots up till 4K/60fps video with the help of 1" CMOS sensor. The photo captured by its camera bursts till 14 fps. 1 inch CMOS Sensor- For the better image quality, the size of the sensor is often taken as an important factor and not the number of pixels. The 1" 20MP CMOS sensor fitted inside the Phantom 4 Pro is 4 times the size of Phantom 4's 1/2.3" sensor. The sensor here uses high pixel range and therefore provides a maximum ISO till 12,800 and increased contrast.

H.264 and H.265 4K Video Recording - The making of a powerful video aids H.264 4K videos at 60 fps or H.265 4K at 30 fps. Both of these are recorded in a 100 Mbps bitrate. The high processors and sensors are capable of making sure that each and everything gets captured and carries almost every detail of the image.

Production-Optimized 4K- The enhanced way of video processing makes it more easy to capture the videos in cinema- and production- optimized DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) at 60 fps with a bitrate of 100 Mbps. H.265 video codec at 30 fps in 4K resolution is also supported by the Phantom 4 Pro. For any bitrate, H.265 has the ability to double the amount of processing of image as H.264. This processing results in significantly enhancing the quality of the image from an extra efficient compression. In order to make the most of the image data for the grading of color, it should be recorded in the high dynamic range D-log mode.

High-Resolution Lens - The camera of Phantom 4 Pro comes aerial-optimized with a wide angle lens of f/2.8 and 24 mm equivalent focal length. 8 elements are featured under it with 2 aspherical that are arranged in 7 groups. All fit into smaller and a more compact frame.

Mechanical Shutter – The act of capturing the images has been a difficult task when the camera is in the air at the time of flight. Remote Controller with Lightbridge HD Video Link - The controller of Phantom 4 Remote comprises of combined controller that has an upgraded system of Lightbridge HD video transmission which comes added with the support of 5.8 GHz transmission. Intelligent Flight Modes-

Draw -This tool helps the drone to follow a certain path or direction and this can be achieved by drawing the path on the screen while keeping the altitude locked. With this being done, more complex shots can be easily taken. There are two types of this tool for different scenarios:

Standard: This keeps the drone at a constant speed and the face of the camera is in the direction of flight.

Free: This means that the flight will move in the direction of instruction and the camera can face any direction.

Active Track - The following of fast moving things can be a bit challenging but the algorithms used here in this drone helps in the recognition and tracking of objects easily while keeping it in the frame. This will help in taking smoother shots of subjects like animals, people, vehicles etc. the choice can be made by the pilot between:

Trace: Avoiding the obstacles automatically and following from the behind or in front of a subject.

Profile: To fly beside the subject at different angles and take the profile snaps of the same.

Spotlight: Hold the camera practiced on a subject while it flies almost anywhere.

Tap Fly - By tapping on the screen, you can fly in the path which is visible on-screen. You can even click on the screen so as to alter the path of flight, avoiding the obstacles on own by tapping on the screen again or take help of the control sticks to change direction. The real-time direction of flight is shown by an AR route function for reference as its route is altered. Since making alterations by joysticks are difficult, therefore, this tool allows such things easily and help in doing other things as well like setting the direction of flight, tilting the gimbal as per the need. They are 3 types:

Tap Fly Forward: Tap to fly in a chosen path.

Tap Fly Backward: Tap to fly in the opposite path.

Tap Fly Free: Stay on the forward direction without locking the direction of the camera

Note: The avoidance of obstacle is not available with Tap Fly Free.

This mode allows the Phantom 4 Pro in getting back to the home by using the best available path. It also allows the drone to record the path, in case the signal gets cut.

On the basis of the height at the time of disconnection, the Phantom 4 Pro can adjust the path of the flight and avoid obstacles. For more precise landing, the Phantom 4 Pro will do the recording of the scene below and compare it with its recording done at the time of takeoff. Gesture Mode - With the help of few gestures, many selfies can be taken. The computer vision technology makes it possible for the Phantom 4 Pro to get the instructions via gestures. The subject then signals the camera when ready for the photo. After the countdown of 3 seconds, the photo is taken without the help of any remote control.

Flight Control System

Flight Modes - There are 3 kinds of modes that are offered by Phantom 4 Pro: P, A and S.  The act of switching between them makes it easy for the pilot in taking the control. In the Position Mode (P), Active Track, Tap Fly, positioning and obstacle sensing features are available. Sports Mode (S) gives a higher speed of 45 mph and extra agility.

Attitude Mode (A) turns off the stabilization of satellite and holds the height of Phantom 4 Pro. This is very useful for the experienced pilots who are looking to take some smoother footage. Tripod Mode limits the speed to 4 mph and provides perfect control for indoor flying and fine framing. Both the vision sensors and infrared sensing system are enabled for a safer flight experience.

Sensor Redundancy - Dual IMU units and dual compass modules are featured in Phantom 4 Pro, making it more stable when many hexacopters and octocopters are taken in for comparison.
